Agreement to these terms
By booking a trip with Book Melbourne Cabs, whether by phone, through our contact form, or in person, you agree to the terms on this page. If anything here doesn't make sense, call us and we're happy to talk it through.
Fares
- Local trips are charged on the meter, in line with standard Victorian taxi fare regulations.
- Airport transfers and long distance trips are quoted as a flat fare over the phone before you book.
- A quote is based on the pickup and drop off details you give us at the time of booking. If those details change, such as an extra stop or a different destination, the fare may change to reflect it.
- Waiting time beyond what's reasonably expected for the trip may be charged in addition to the quoted or metered fare.
Bookings and cancellations
- A booking is confirmed once we've agreed the pickup details and, where relevant, the fare, over the phone.
- You can cancel or reschedule a booking at any time by calling us. The earlier you let us know, the better, since it gives us time to reassign the driver.
- If a driver arrives for a booking and the passenger doesn't show up without reasonable notice, we may ask you to cover the cost of that trip.
- Extra requirements such as a baby seat, a maxi cab or a wheelchair accessible vehicle need to be arranged at the time of booking so we can send the right vehicle.
Passenger conduct
We expect passengers to treat drivers and vehicles with respect. A driver may decline a trip, or end one early, if a passenger's behaviour is unsafe, abusive, or puts the driver or vehicle at risk.
Driver conduct
Our drivers are licensed and insured, and are expected to drive safely, keep their vehicle clean, and treat every passenger courteously. If a trip doesn't meet that standard, call us and let us know.
Lost property and liability
- If you leave something in a vehicle, contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to help you get it back, though we can't guarantee an item will be recovered.
- Our liability for loss, damage or delay is limited to what's required under Victorian law and our insurance arrangements.
- We're not responsible for delays caused by matters outside our reasonable control, such as heavy traffic, road closures or weather.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time as our service changes. The version published on this page at the time of your booking is the one that applies.
