Is the estimate exact?
It is a close working estimate based on our rates and the route distance we calculate for you, not a guaranteed final price. The exact fare depends on the route your driver actually takes and conditions on the day.
Does traffic change my fare?
It can. The meter charges by distance while the car is moving and by time while it is crawling in slow traffic, so a trip that spends longer stuck in traffic than expected can come in a little higher. That is why the estimate is shown as a range rather than one exact figure.
Why does the price change at night or on weekends?
Our fares have three rates. The day rate runs from 9am to 5pm, a higher evening and overnight rate applies from 5pm to 9am, and the highest rate applies from 10pm to 4am on Friday and Saturday nights and on public holidays. Enter your date and time above and the calculator applies the correct rate automatically.
Why is there a minimum fare?
Every trip has a flat minimum fare regardless of vehicle type. If your flagfall, distance or time charge and any surcharges add up to less than that minimum, the minimum applies instead.
